About Jill
Aloha. My name is Jill and I am the founder and CEO of this company. I was born and raised in Hawai`i on O`ahu. I am a social worker by education and have my Master of Social Work degree.
I have a passion for this work and have helped countless people over the past 35 years be safe and create healthier intimate relationships with their partners. I believe every home can be a sanctuary and I hope I can be of help to you if you are seeking a healthy relationship with your partner and peace in your home.
I have also trained many people in the community on domestic violence to include the Honolulu Police Department Recruits, the Judiciary, the Faith Community, and various providers in the psychology, health, and social services fields during Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. If you are interested in booking a training, I can help tailor the training to your needs.
About Hina`ea
In Native Hawaiian culture, Hina is the Goddess of the Moon and protects those traveling in darkness. Since the Moon also influences the tides and the growing of food, she is also the Goddess of the Ocean, fishing and agriculture.
In the most challenging times of my life, I have looked to the moon for healing and finding my way out of darkness. In those times too, I have also gone to the ocean to connect and find peace. Both the moon and the ocean are a significant part of my own journey of healing and finding hope.
Over 10 years ago, I had created Hina`ea as a place of healing to fulfill my dream of helping people before life happened and my dream was placed on hold. Now, after a decade on a challenging road, Hina and all she represents is part of my own journey for it was under the moon and by the ocean that I found hope, compassion, healing, and gratitude. I am grateful to the Native Hawaiian people and their culture to be able to attach her name to this endeavor to bring healing and hope to others. My dream now is that you are also able to find some healing, peace, and hope at Hina`ea Building Hope LLC!
